LGBTQi Conference

Combating discrimination:
Inclusion and workplace rights for EFFAT LGBTQi workers

Monday, 4 November 2019 from 9.30 am-12.30 pm.
Westin Hotel in Zagreb, Room Panorama

As the regional European organisation of the IUF and as part of its LGBTI workers and Allies’ Committee, EFFAT executive committee meeting has decided  follow up on the IUF conference on LGBTQI (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, queer, intersex) rights at the workplace that took place on the occasion of the IUF congress in 2017 and the October 2018 conference ‘Fight discrimination of LBGTI  workers at the workplace’ organised by EFFAT IUF and PROGE in Vienna.

In the labour movement’s struggles for equality and justice, the exclusion and discrimination of LGBTQI workers cannot be overlooked. Promoting justice and equality for all LGBTQI workers is part of  EFFAT’s commitment to fostering decent working conditions.

Along the topics discussed, the conference will focus on activities and best practices that EFFAT affiliates have already in place at national and regional level and we  will look at collective bargaining framework to advance LGBTQI rights at the workplace.
